You cannot compare it to Battlefield, Arma, or even Call of Duty in many aspects. The games that omit crosshair customization tend to deserve it - these are games like Arma and Battlefield, games that focus on some degree of realism. Take a look at popular modern FPS titles like Overwatch and Counter-Strike - both of those games have crosshair customization, and people love it. At worst, it's a frustrating aspect of game design. At best, it's a skill you have to develop. There is not a fast-paced FPS under the sun where screwy crosshairs feel nice or provide any degree of TRUE balance. Some people might feel like this is an alright way to balance weapons. I could point out more examples, but I think you get the idea. Titan weapons have giant circles to provide some feeling of ambiguity in your accuracy. For example, the CAR and R-201C center dot vanishes when you start to fire. Unfortunately, one of the ways you've seemed to try to balance this is by giving some of the weapons absolutely AWFUL crosshairs. Hipfire accuracy is key to that, and you've done a great job here. We like going fast, we like shooting stuff, we like hitting shots, and we like being aware of our surroundings. You've even graced us with wonderful design changes to the weapons from Titanfall 1 in that most - if not all of the weapons - are very accurate while hip-firing, enabling us to move and shoot freely instead of penalizing our movement, field of view or accuracy. You've designed a brilliant game with a wonderful movement system that has successfully scratched the itch that I haven't been able to reach since the days of Quake and Tribes. Now you've got a crosshair that doesn't vanish, bounce around or is too huge for use! Why this isn't a cheat and why Respawn needs to add custom crosshairs to Titanfall 2Īlright Respawn, we need to have a chat. Not sure if the values will work for everyone but this is what I've got with my 1920x1080 screen: plugin.overlay_image.pos_x = 909 Running the game in a borderless window (even if temporarily - this will cause input delay for Windows 10 users thanks to Desktop Window Manager).Īlternatively, you can browse to C:\ProgramData\Pla圜law5plus\profiles and edit the following lines. You'll have to alt-tab and adjust it by dragging the crosshair in the Playclaw preview window until it's lined up with your crosshair in-game. Press the hotkey you set in step 5, that should bring your crosshair overlay up - but it's probably out of place. You could go into a private game for this, or even the single player parkour training level. I bound mine to F7, the same key I use to start recording footage in OBS (you could use Playclaw to record but you'll have to shell out the cash for it) Bind a key to "Enable/disable overlays (global) - this is critical and is what toggles the crosshair in game. We'll get to that.Ĭlick the back button in Playclaw on the top left, and go to Hotkeys. This will let you move around the crosshair you've selected, but you'll have a hard time aligning it for now. Click OK.Ĭlick "Preview Overlays" in Playclaw. Don't tick the stretch image box, make sure "Full Visible" is selected. In Playclaw, click Plugins and select "Image Overlay", then click the Plugin Settings button and find your image. png (as opposed to jpeg or bmp) to ensure transparency. This is not necessary to use it merely as a crosshair overlay - clicking Trial will do fineĭownload a crosshair image (right click > save image) from this album, make your own, or find other images online. You will be prompted for a key for the full version. ![]() ![]() Go to download Playclaw 5 and install it. How to use Playclaw to get a custom crosshair overlay in Titanfall 2 I've had a lot to say on the matter since launch, but more on that later. I disagree with you vehemently and have to point the finger at Respawn. I know what some of you are already thinking - "This is a cheat and you shouldn't be doing it, you might even get banned! You're diminishing the integrity of the game!" I've tried several different applications but so far this is the only method that works and doesn't cause me to take any performance hit.įirst, I'll explain how to put a custom crosshair overlay on your screen. Huge shoutout to /u/Quantified for helping me get it figured out.
